I can blag almost anything - Saturday

I got up an hour earlier than usual, I'm not sure why seeing as I took a long time to fall asleep. Anyhoo, I woke up with an aching stomach, it turns out that I over-exercised it. When we tried climbing that shelter I got the furthest, I did a pull-up so my chest was level with the top, this left my legs dangling in mid air. I see two real options, one is to push yourself up with your arms (as a weedy person it's just not happening) or, swing your legs up onto the roof and just roll on, I got one leg up and for some reason forgot to move it over for the second, anyhoo, it required stomach strength I don't have. I did some WoA stuff after getting up and started transfering stuff between my computer and backup disk, really really slowly, in fact, I left it going when I went to Lorna's. Yesterday Sarah, Brierley and Lorna came over at some point, they didn't stay long and with the "excitment" I forgot about it, suffice to say their friend was ment to be comming over today. I went over to their house, Lydia (the name of said friend) was not there, Lorna and myself therefore decided it'd be a good idea to try and put up CU posters in all the Halls. Jo had already tried to put them up at some point but was flat out told she couldn't, unsurprisingly Jo had very little hope we'd manage it. Sadly for Jo, she forgot that I enjoy the challenge of "blagging" stuff, I feel that getting permission to stick up posters when other people are not counts as blagging stuff. Within 30 seconds of entering each hall I had left a small sheaf of posters they said they'd stick up, you never know, they might just put them up. Got back to Lorna's, had a glass of Orange Juice, went back home and watched some Scrubs (awesome) and did more WoA stuff. Tomorrow is the Church Search (I personally think that Church Crawl is a cooler name) and I'm looking forwards to meeting some Freshsers!

Chav Attack! - Friday

Got up, washed, broke fast, did WoA stuff, went food shopping, helped Steve H to get a temporary parking permit (okay, he was bored and it was nice to keep him company) we then went to B&Q. I peeled potatoes for dinner, we had dinner (Lauren put vegetables on my plate so I ate as many as possible). After dinner we watched True Lies, I then went over to #10. Myself, Steve H, Steve La P, Andrew and Andy K, Colin, Sarah, Brierley and Lorna went to the beach. We threw some stones in the Sea and tried to climb onto a shelter about 2 and a bit meteres off the ground, I almost managed it. Jo, Lizzie and a lady I've not seen before called Liz arrived and we started talking to them too. Then the interesting thing happened, 10-15 youths arrived, they were 12-16 years old and very violent, they tried to start a fight with us but we all just walked off, they walked after us! Here's the interesting thing, most of the guys are over 6ft and well built, two of them came after me specifically and one even punched me, however, due to the height difference, their somewhat lack of strength and my now mild adrenaline rush, it didn't hurt and left no mark. In the end we just jogged off and they left us alone. It gets better! On the way back to #10 we found some girl lying on the pavement as if asleep. We found out her name was Chrisie (she was semi-awake, we assume drunk) and edventually a bunch of drunk friends came over and took her away, spraying beer over most of us (I managed to stand back) but no fight ensued at all. We all got back safely and it was a most interesting evening. It is the first ever time I've ever had anybody try to attack me, it was most unnerving and I'm really glad that it didn't escelate as they had a 2/3 - 1 advantage (assuming the Ladies did nothing) and it'd have ended with someone getting really hurt before it stopped. Tomorrow will hopefully be less violent, though this incident really does give an insight as to why people carry knives for protection.

Quiet Day - Thursday

I got up and umm, okay, for the entire day I did nothing but play Marathon, write WoA readme and play with a database (also for WoA). I wrote some commedy for WoA, specifically commedy that relays a hint/message to the players about something that's being overlooked by lots of them. On a side note, in Marathon there are a set of three levels acclaimed to be the hardest to "vid" (where you jump to that level with an inbuilt cheat and start with nothing but a puny pistol) and special versions were made. I can complete all of the special ones (you have to vid them) and can vid two of the normal ones, the last normal one really is very hard.

Back in Business - Wednessday

Overall a great day. I got up at 0900 and left the house before anybody else was up, I walked into Uni and straight to University House (Admin building). There I asked about my loan problems and they said that my department office was the problem, go see them. I got to my department. Andy (the guy I sent my piece of paper about a course change to) got my letter (and remembered my name) and told me it was all okay and that he couldn't do anything until University House finnished doing something, and that if I had problems enrolling, come see him. Neato. After that I went to Tesco, got some food and then came back home. Lorna was there and we made a start on the CU website, seeing as we can't get on the server (still) we are using mine until we can. For dinner, Lauren cooked a curry which was delicious. I then spent the evening coding a database thing for WoA (it's more satisfying than it sounds) and other WoA stuff.

Tired - Tuesday

Due to a program crashing, my Mac never actually played my alarm, the rest of the system was fine, it was just that application. I didn't get up early at all and felt tired the rest of the day as a result. I spent most of the day playing Marathon, running WoA and talking to a Fresher (Becca) who will be joining the CU and going to Eastney. Around about 2000 I went over to Lorna's to sort out how she wants the CU website to work but she wasn't in, Brierley, Sarah and Greg were cooking Bangers and Mash and had made too much, neato, dinner was sorted. Afterwards we watched some supernanny and lost, I had a cup of tea. It turns out that I have a "special" mug there, they claim that it was left there by the previous occupants, I'm dubious about this. The mug is of standard size, plain white with big black lettering saying "I love tits", then in really really small writing it mentions it's from some orno-something society. I found it amusing and Sarah will now be horrified that I put this here because Jonathon from Eastney reads it :)

No luck - Monday

I got up really late and... I can't remember what I did computer wise, whatever it was it clearly wasn't blog worthy. The course of the day was sadly mostly a waste, I spent a lot of time playing Marathon (it's a very good game) and not a lot doing productive things. The evening was spent with more Marathon, some WoA, some Pasta and Tuna (I CAN COOK!), more Marathon, laughing a Funny Pictures that I intend to look at whenever I need a laugh in the next few days. In other news I am now the guy incharge of the CU website for sure, bad news is I have no access to the server yet. We've got loads of stuff planned for Freshers week which is going to be really really good, such things include me giving out donuts at Langstone, playing games in the park and possibly something involving chocolate, this time, rather than handing it out to everybody, my policy of free stuff says that most of it goes into my stomach :)

Tired - Sunday

I got up, went to Church. The morning's service was about how Jesus is always with us, we just have to want him to be with us. Afterwards we went around the Hacker's for lunch and I lost at Leg Wrestling. The evening service was about God's plan not being ours. I was reassured by it because I'm always wanting God to tell me what to do, logic says that if there's someone undeniably smarter than you and they are not out for themselves, it's worth following their plan. In the night I went over to Lorna, Brierley, Sarah and Emma's house. I went to sort out the CU website but they didn't have the details so instead we had toasted sandwiches and a Bible Study, most of which we talked about Jehova Witnesses. It's now 0123 and I'm tired.
