Logic Logic Logic - Friday

Today I got up nice and late (nothing like a well rested brain huh?) and did some revision. This exam I wasn't sure about, it's Formal Computing which is basically logic but I didn't know it as well as say, Java. I revised stuff with Gareth and aside from a few bits I felt I was going to do okay in the exam. It was a two hour exam and after an hour and a quarter I was done (I was in the slower 50% for those that think I am fast). In the exam I feel that God really helped me, I remembered stuff I had completely failed to understand in the revision and I believe that I got many more marks because of it. After the exam I dropped Lawrence's DVDs back and borrowed a wodge more, I also had some re-heated pizza. After getting back rather late I played some Warcraft 3 with Ryo. Firstly was a 1v1 where I was testing out a specific hero. After comprehensively beating Ryo in such a manner he had no chance we decided that it was time to take it to the internet. We won both games hands down and my hero proved to be just as good online as against Ryo, we're working on putting together a team of people and I think I know which hero I will be using.

Java Java Java - Thursday

Up early for my Java exam. Suffice to say it went well. Myself, Ryo, Justin, Luke, India and Becca went to the sea-front again. This time it was rather windy but Justin and I still had a roli-poli race (it was great). Before we went there we went to the chocolate shop and I had my cup of molten chocolate plus Becca's (she couldn't manage it) and some of Luke's. Here is a picture of me removing the last traces of chocolate from the cup, picture courtesy of Becca who promptly uploaded them to facebook.

Bwalghawa - Wednesday

Yeah, as you probably guessed, the name bears no relevance to the day. I got up far later than planned and went to the Prayer Lunch. I ate most of the food (Ryo, Justin and Jo should have arrived on time) and afterwards Ryo came over my house to play Warcraft 3 with myself and Gareth. I watched some Family Guy, WoAed and Revised for the rest of the day. Tomorrow is Java (I should be okay but prayers are still appreciated, the more marks the better) and Friday is Formal computing (prayers are much more appreciated for this one) then I have lectures again next week.

A great day! - Tuesday

I stayed up till 0300 watching Pitch Black, toward the end I was starting to think this was a bad idea as I was going to be slightly tired when I wanted to wake up later. In retrospect I am glad I watched it and then some Family Guy. Lauren, Gareth and Ceri (or Keri, no idea how she spells it) went clubbing and brought back 4 guys. So it was a little loud. When I did get up I got washed, rushed a tuna-fish sandwich for breakfast and called on India. Several people from the CU were going out for a random social today. I was one of them, India was another. We arrived a little early and SiƤn was there shortly after us. Becca and Luke arrived roughly on time and Jo was late (very late) because her tutorial lasted longer than predicted. But it was all okay. We went into some Coco Shop thing in Southsea and looked at what chocolatey goodness we were going for. I went for a Chocolate Chaud, basically molten chocolate in a cup. At the end of the meal Jo was unable to finish her cake, at this point I wolfed it down in seconds, much to the laughter of all those around me. We then walked to the Beach and found a green bit by the bandstand. There was a hill there (and it should still be there) that I challenged everybody to a rolli-polli race on. For some reason they all declined but I rolled down anyway. India revealed that she had a camera that could take movies, so I regained my breath and we went back up the hill (it's really not that big). I can't recall what we did but we did something, when I re-rolled down the hill while being filmed. There were a load of older people around at this point and they all laughed. I should have taken a bow but instead I just joined in and rubbed my head. As I was rolling down the hill I twisted and turned a little so I was going backwards down the hill, so instead of being able to tuck my head in nicely I landed partially on my head. It's okay, I was rolling in such a way it didn't snap my neck like a twig. I also somehow ended up with grass stains on my trousers, I am still investigating to find the culprit. I went home, did something or other on the computer, probably WoA related and then went to see Jonathan. We had a discussion about how we live our lives and I came away feeling encouraged and I'd also had the chance to ask a question. In the Bible it says that God is a God of Love. Yet, at many many places in the Bible it says to fear God. Clearly this is stupid? I certainly thought so, a God of love would encourage with Love, not with fear. It turns out that the Hebrew word used means fear in a form of reverence, in the way you'd fear a car. You don't walk around scared of cars but you know that running in-front of them is just plain stupid. Well, it's a similar thing here. I don't understand why the Bible makes such a translation when the words "reverence and respect" make much more sense to me. For the rest of the day I didn't do a vast amount, I did listen to Pure FM, I'm pretty much the only listener that contacts them so it's quite amusing. Apparently my blog is "funny"...

Do what now? - Monday

No, the title has no relevance to anything. I got up and over the rest of the day did some programming, WoA, CU and I went over to see Lawrence and we talked about geeky things.

Not a lot better - Sunday

I got up really early without any problem, I walked to India's house and then to Sarah's where we got a lift to the 10th Hole Cake House or something. The students were all having a breakfast there, I went for the Full English and I'm glad I did, after shoveling as much as possible into my stomach I skipped lunch. This morning's Church service was with a guest speaker who was most amusing and talked about climbing mountains. He didn't reference to the Bible as much as Jonathan and as a result his message wasn't as clear. After the service I went home and did various things before the evening service. I was very tired for the evening service but understood the message. Simply put, Stand Firm in your faith and be unified. Oh, I'm still aching
