Erk - Saturday

It's 2103 and I'm already half asleep, early blog today. I got up at about 1200 and spent some time using the broadband wireless. I played a lot of the ORIGIONAL marathon, it's great great fun. I also listened to the rest of the IMG podcasts. I've got a headache, aching neck and also foggy head. Night night.

Long Trip - Friday

I got up real early, I needed to get everything ready. I packed, went to Tesco to get food and pack in time for 1200. I even went round to say bye to my Gran and Uncle. I left the house at 1200. The train left Port Talbort at 1249. From here I got the 1253 train to Fratton. I got into Fratton at about 1640. For those counting, that's a 4 hour, 40 minute trip so far. One of my presents for Christmas was a massive bag to carry stuff with. This bag has wheels on it too for when you put as much stuff as me in it. My bag must have weighed 30+ KG. This meant that the 1 and a half mile trip from Fratton station took me an HOUR. I got into Campus and spent some time cleaning up my room and eating noodles. I spent some time watching Star Wars and then listening to the Inside Mac Games podcast. The cat that I got from my Auntie now has a name. It is called Splat! Anyhoo, I'm getting an early night, g'dnight No Annoying noise today sorry

Quake 3 - Thursday

I spent most of today playing Quake 3, partly because I was unfocused. When focused I can concentrate on a single task all day. I did start working on something for WoA but was told that it was rubbish and I decided to get the evaluator to help. As such today was not an interesting one, that said my railgun skills improve, I feel I'll be doing better when my friends and I have a lan party sometime.

Sounds like a laugh - Wednessday

I got up nice and early today, about 1000. I logged onto MSN and WoA, and Anton from Sweden was there. For those who have only just joined us, I shall fill you in on what Anton likes to do. Anton is clearly very happy in his marrige and would like other's to be happy too. As such he keeps giving me advice and suggestions about ladies. I'm not offended in any way by this, nor annoyed. Today I decided I could play a joke on him, here's a transcript of the events, I'm talking to Anton over MSN. Teifion: Hey Anton, great news Anton: What's that? Teifion: I got a girlfriend :) (In the background I googled "Fat Girl") Anton: YAY, at last, so happy for you Teifion: Me too, you wanna see a picture of her? (Results came up and I clicked a promising one) Anton: Sure Teifion: *sends link to picture found on the internet of some fat girl* Anton: Hey! That's not fair, you got my hopes up Teifion: Bwahahahhahaha I think Anton took it as a joke, but he's forgotten his password for his blogger account and has yet to realise it's got anonymous posting enabled, he won't be making any comments. I also got some new speakers I'd ordered today. They're pretty swell, the subwoofer is excellent, the comparisson between them and the computer's speakers is staggering. Now when Sam plays loud music I can match him (that's not why I got them, but it's a nice bonus). I spent some time working on various things around WoA and helping Ben get his website working. He's been stuck with Tiscali all this time so I told him to upload to my server, I think it's somewhat faster. Now, to repeat yesterday, what'd you like to see more of on the blog?

woarl.com - Tuesday

I got up at something like 1000 today, i'm getting up earlier and earlier these days. I got downstairs, answered the customary 100 posts on WoA and got myself a cup of tea. I spent some downloading more mods for WoA, it's like an addiction... I also registered my new domain name and server. woarl.com is now mine and it's GREAT. From having experiance dealing with names.co.uk I've gotta say that it's hard to make more of a difference. The tech support is fast and effective, there's lots of space and bandwidth. And then we get to the Control Pannel, it's excellent. If you want to use them, PLEASE register with my referal link of http://www.siteground.com/index.htm?referrerid=20860. If you stay for more than 30 days I get THREE free months. Yes, that's right, if four of you register then I get a free year. It's cost me £35 (or will once I pay my dad)... Most usefully I can give out @woarl.com email addresses and custom FTP accounts (such as for the very talented Khornesone so he doesn't need to pay to host images for us and can upload them right away). Is there anything in particular you'd like to see on the blog in the upcomming week?

Neural Networks - Monday

I spent all day working. Work work work... Okay, I didn't but I need to look like I am. I got up before 1200, browsed the forum and did some more WoA stuff. I also decided that I'll be buying a server for WoA so I don't need to use my Dads. It'll mean that the other Custodians get key's to the Database (except that WarpGhost one, he's a bit dodgy). I spent a long time improving the XML parser. The funny thing is that the part I am working on is the part that won't work on thejordans.biz (or buzz for Potsie) server and so I can't show you yet. I spent some time helping my Dad to sort out the brake cables for the bike. There's also a saddle on it. I'll have to get a picture of myself in my high visibility jacket riding the bike, it'll give you all a laugh. Then you'll realise that the bus takes 15 mintues to get to Uni, runs only ever half hour and not on weekends. You'll compare that to an 8 minute ride when I want to go fast and see that actually, I'm much cooler than you can ever hope to be... I spent several hours after a delicious dinner (flicked the vegitables under the table, Taz loved them) working on an explanatino of my programming project for Uni. Here it is. I've checked the link, the first person from WoA to MSN me saying it's broken gets a state of non-peace with my team. Custodian team or not...

Happy New Year - Sunday

Happy New Year blog readers! I got up early today and downloaded more mods. I got a nice phone call from Nana Duck. I feigned not knowing who she was but my Dad's laughter gave it away (and I think she can still recigonise my voice). I blamed my earlier comments on my Dad (he did, honest). I regret not hanging up on her or pretending it was a pizza delivery service in south London... I then re-wrote some pages on my site and did some modding. I spent a lot of time sorting out stuff for my team in WoA (Custodians get teams to keep the game flowing properly and to stop cheaters). For some reason one player seemed intent on winding up the leader of the team in In Character Discussions. The amusing thing is that he doesn't realise.... Oh wait, he reads this too, better not say anymore. I re-did the WoA RPG stuff from yesterday a little. My Gran and Uncle came over for dinner and we had a massive Roast Dinner. It was excellent and I thoughroughly enjoyed it. I did some more stuff with my Team and some more planning for the comme game world. I also talked to some classmates about our project for web design. The day went really fast but I did enjoy it.

More modding - Saturday

I somehow couldn't be bothered to get out of bed until 1200. Arakasi says it's Holiday Syndrome and I shouldn't worry. I found that there was a new version of my forum so I spent an hour upgrading it. I then spent somewhat less time installing other mods. I spent a lot of time planning some WoA RPG stuff. I've just gotten a copy of Omni Graffle and I've got a need to make flow charts, diagrams and random stuff with it. This actually took a long time to get everything nice and neat. In the evening I helped with the Curry (cooking and eating) then the family watched a film. After that I goofed around with the Database of the forum, chatted to some people and didn't do much to celebrate the new year. Sorry. On a side note WarpGhost and I did spend the very first part of 2006 having fun and adding descriptions to different forums. They're all something related to the team or person, even if it's just that they'll get the joke. Here are some of the best (that most people will think are amusing). Eldmark (Anton the Swede): Eldmark, the place where everybody knows how to deal with ladies Caliphate (A Scotsman, and now an American): Impersonating royalty since..... Saldean (A bunch of nomads): The only reason we don't have a city is cos we're lost.... The Unwanted (Arakasi's temporary team): The only reason they are Unwanted is because of their smell.... Misuti (Nightbringer's team): Warning: You are locked out of your own forum Albed (A Dwarven team run by young people): Bring your own beard Taranaska (Anti magical fanatics): A Wizard's Best Friend™ Sorry for the lack of a story...
