I got up later than I wanted too, but that's because I've had a few too many late nights, it's much earlier tonight so that's going to help. The day consisted of WoA, Warcraft 3, Eating and umm, more Warcraft 3 in the evening. I even made a new friend from Romania (we cracked a lot of jokes in one of the game and had a lot of fun). Tomorrow is my B201 exam so I did do some revision, it's all about things like Health and Safety. Oh, I also had a look at learning a new programming language called Perl, apparently it'll make me very employable. Still nothing from HP. |

Sorry for the Lack of Updates - Wednesday
Monday was pretty boring, I also went to bed really late so didn't blog. Tuesday was much better, HP phoned me asking if I was still interested in the job at Bristol, I of course said yes. Huw came over and we sorted out a load of WoA stuff. I also played Warcraft 3 quite a lot. Today was the Prayer Lunch, specifically the one where I was bringing some food. Rather than a crate-load of Tunafish Sandwiches I opted to bring Parmiers. First I had to cook them. I cooked some last night and made some more this morning. Everybody was surprised that I had cooked something, and something so tasty at that. They were all eaten by the end of the lunch and I only had two of them. The rest of the day was spent with some work and some Warcraft 3. |

All around good - Sunday
I had a lie in as per usual, walked Becca and SiƤn to Church and helped with the Discoverers. It is really satisfying and fulfilling to be able to help, I even got a bracelet from it (we made some Bracelets) which I later gave to Sarah as she'd actually wear it. I was going to be walking an additional lady to Church but I somehow didn't get her Email and so wasn't aware she was going home for the weekend. Oh well, that's life. After the service we went to the Thatched House, Brierley was somewhat hyperactive and played leapfrog some of the way, it was quite good fun. I ate all of my half roast chicken, partly to prove to Brierley that I could, partly because I was hungry enough that I could. I went home and did some WoA stuff along with napping. The evening service was about persecution. Interestingly enough, the countries such as China, where Christians are persecuted openly and in a very nasty way, the people do not pray it goes away, they find that in it their faith in Jesus grows. It reminds me of something Ceryn asked/told a group of us on the way to Church one day. "When persecution comes here, which it will, are we going to be able to endure it?" It makes me wonder, I've never been persecuted for my faith, mocked yes but that happens with most things I do. Once I got back I looked at some trailers on the Apple Site, it turns out the 720dp High Def trailers are very very nice on this computer, I also found a way to save them to disk (igetmovies didn't work). I now have almost 2GB of them, very handy as I now don't need to stream them off each time. Some of the films I look fowards to are 300, Children of Men (already out, apparently really good), Happily N'ever After and Shrek the Third. Some others that I'll probably not watch at the cinema but would be intersted in finding the DVD of will be Evan Almighty, Fantastic Four rise of the Silver Surfer, Letters from Iwo Jima, Smokin' Aces, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and The Lives of Others. |

And that's the end of that chapter - Saturday
All day was spent working on WoA, for the next few Saturdays there will not be any WoA, so I need to figure out what to do with my spare time. I'm wondering if there are any mad parties scheduled soon that I can attend... |

I can cook! - Friday
I got up, went into Uni and revised for an exam later that day, sat said exam and think I've done decently, actually, I think I did better than I should have, the stuff that came up was much easier than I was lead to believe in the hours preceding the test and I have little doubt that Prayer once again worked. I went to Tesco and bought some stuff I would need later. I went home, browsed the net a little and then cooked some Palmiers. I didn't roll the pastry quite thin enough so they were a little dry. However, they tasted very nice and it should all work out for the Prayer Lunch on Wednesday. My exam timetable is as follows 26th at 1400 - Pretty rubbish Professional Practice, one hour long 31st at 0900 - Smart Software Systems, an hour and a half long 2nd at 1400 - Delightful Digital Electronics, an hour and a half long 8th at 0900 - Positively Programming in Java, we've had mixed reports, one says an hour long, one says three... 9th at 1615 - Lots of Logic with Formal Computing, two hours long |

Not as bad as anticipated - Thursday
Morning was spent working on the Digital lab. We managed to get 50% on both sections of it, which considering the state of our project is quite impressive. In the afternoon I had a lab on Data Coms, I got 70% on that and went home where I played quite a bit of Warcraft with Gareth to relax. |

Eugh, it's over at last (well, almost) - Wednesday
Tuesday had a good reason for not getting a blog. I got up and got to my 0900 lecture nice and on time. Ionnais went through a practice test, by "went through" showed the question and didn't help us. In theory this is a great idea as it gives the class a chance to discuss the questions. Of course, theory isn't aware that only 10 people at most were interested in answering questions. I of course gave my say on all of them and learnt something for it. Bad news now, on my way home I somehow missed TWO phone calls, one from HP. I emailed them and they said they'd reschedule it to Wednesday 1800. The rest of the day was spent watching a little American Dad and completing B201 coursework. By the end of the day I was knackered and had a horrible headache. Surprising as it may seem, I awoke today very refreshed with nothing left of the headache from yesterday. There was no Java lecture so I had an extra hour of a lie in (I have a feeling I've not had as much sleep as I should have). I went into Uni, handed in my coursework and then spent a couple of hours working on the Digital project. Chris has been really unwell recently which hasn't helped him in his plan of "do most of the work in the last week". On the plus side I managed to get the C side working and we have done a lot of the work already. He and I are going in two hours early tomorrow to get a headstart seeing as it's being assessed tomorrow. I think we'll be okay. Prayer Lunch was good, next week I'm bringing some food and intend to make Parm - ee - ays, I've got a rough idea of how to make them (it's amazing how fast Java pushes cooking out of my mind). I relaxed this evening then had the phone interview with HP. I don't think I did amazingly well but I did not fluff up in a big way either. We prayed about it at the Prayer Lunch so I know that whatever happens is God's will and I'm not going to worry about it. |
